I was born and raised in Columbus, Georgia where I graduated from Carver High School. I attended the University of Georgia and graduated with honors in history. I obtained my medical doctorate from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia and completed my residency in orthopaedic surgery at Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans, Louisiana.
As an orthopedic surgeon at Mayo Clinic Health System in Waycross, Georgia, I provided compassionate and comprehensive musculoskeletal care to patients of all ages with a focus on surgical treatment hip and knee arthritis, fragility fracture treatment and prevention as well as the surgical treatment of musculoskeletal infections. We also gave back to the Waycross community through a $35,000 community based research grant from the Office of Health Disparities Research at Mayo Clinic Rochester focusing on improving the health of rural African American Women with knee pain.
